CTO suspends licences of 68 drivers over fatal, serious traffic accidents

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jul, 2026) Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi has ordered the suspension of the driving licences of 68 drivers involved in fatal and serious non-fatal traffic accidents as part of a crackdown aimed at improving road safety and reducing traffic violations.

According to a spokesperson for City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL), the driving licences of motorists involved in every fatal and serious non-fatal accident will now be suspended. Any individual found driving with a suspended licence will face legal action.

The CTO said the licences of drivers found responsible for negligent driving would remain suspended for at least one year, while those involved in fatal accidents would also face legal proceedings in addition to the suspension of their licences.
