CTP finalises comprehensive Eid ul Azha traffic plan in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) City Traffic Police (CTP) have finalized a comprehensive traffic plan for Eid ul Azha to ensure smooth traffic flow, public convenience and safety across the city during the festive holidays.

According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam, more than 900 traffic officers and wardens will remain on duty throughout Eid holidays to facilitate commuters and maintain uninterrupted traffic movement on major roads and busy intersections.

The CTO said special arrangements have been made for Eid congregations, mosques, parks, and recreational spots to avoid congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement. Additional traffic personnel will also be deployed at open places and key public areas to assist worshippers and regulate traffic effectively.

The traffic police have formed seven special squads to prevent one-wheeling and car skating. These squads will conduct strict monitoring on major highways and sensitive locations to ensure a safe environment for citizens celebrating Eid festivities.

Farhan Aslam said traffic wardens will perform their duties during Eid so that citizens can travel conveniently and celebrate the auspicious occasion with their families without unnecessary inconvenience. He urged motorists to strictly follow traffic regulations, avoid reckless driving, and cooperate with traffic police officials.
