Culture Minister asks SLA to ensure greater usage, promotion of Sindhi

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) The Sindh Culture and Tourism Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah has directed the officials of the Sindhi Language Authority (SLA) to endeavour for greater usage and promotion of Sindhi language keeping in view the present day challenges.

The spokesman of SLA informed here on Thursday that the authority's Chairman Dr Sher Mehrani held a meeting with the provincial minister in Karachi to brief the latter about the authority's performance.

"The language is our identity and its preservation is our moral and national responsibility," the minister said.

The Chairman, meanwhile, apprised the provincial minister that Sindhi language learning centers had been established in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Khairpur and Shaheed Benazirabad.

According to him, the process of new admissions in those centers was underway.

Mehrani briefed the minister that efforts were underway to preserve the original diction and words of Sindhi.

He assured Shah that all resources and expertise would be utilized for preservation and promotion of the language.
