HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) Sindh minister for culture, tourism and antiquities Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah paid a surprise visit to Hasrat Mohani Library here on Monday, where he ordered the suspension of an officer over absence from duty, stating that negligence in libraries would not be tolerated.
During the visit, the minister inspected various sections of the library and interacted with students to inquire about the facilities available and the issues they face. He said that libraries across the province were being digitized, which will benefit students.
He further announced that new books and dedicated CSS sections would be made mandatory in all libraries.
The minister emphasized that improving the library system would ensure better free facilities for youth. He directed all officers to ensure effective public service delivery and warned that he would continue making surprise visits across Sindh to monitor departmental performance. Later, the minister also visited Mukhi House.
