ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) Pakistan Customs and Punjab-2 have qualified for the final of the Youth Under-18 National Hockey Championship 2026, being held under the auspices of the Pakistan Hockey Federation herre at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium.
In the first semifinal, Punjab-2 edged past Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in a thrilling encounter. The match ended 3-3 in regulation time before Punjab-2 secured victory through a shootout. Abu Sufyan struck twice while Farhan added one goal for Punjab-2. For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Uzair, Mujahid and Sameer scored one goal each. Chairman Selection Committee Olympian Samiullah Khan witnessed the match as chief guest.
In the second semifinal, Pakistan Customs defeated Pakistan Army 3-1.
Asam Haider was the star performer, netting a hat-trick for Customs, while Army’s lone goal was scored by captain Ali Hanzala. The High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam, Colonel (R) Kamal Ahmad Basha, attended the match as chief guest.
A large number of dignitaries, officials and hockey enthusiasts were present on the occasion, including PHF President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Deputy DG Pakistan sports board Shahid-ul-Islam, Olympian Samiullah Khan, PHF selection committee members Olympian Dr. Atif Bashir, Olympian Nasir Ali, Olympian Naeem Akhtar and Olympian Kashif Javed, along with junior team head coach Olympian Ayaz Mahmood and other coaches and officials.
