Daycare centre inaugurated at FJIDS

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) Parliamentary Secretary for Women Development Department Sadia Taimoor inaugurated a modern daycare centre at the Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Sciences (FJIDS), Jubilee Town, here on Monday.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the institute’s Dean, Medical Superintendent (MS), doctors and staff, who warmly welcomed the parliamentary secretary and termed the initiative a significant step towards facilitating working women.

On the occasion, Sadia Taimoor said the Punjab government is taking practical measures to provide a safe, secure and supportive environment for women, enabling them to balance their professional responsibilities with family life in an effective manner. She stated that the establishment of daycare facilities is part of a broader reform agenda aimed at improving workplace inclusivity across public sector institutions.

She added that the newly established centre would particularly benefit female doctors and staff who often face challenges in managing childcare alongside demanding professional duties.

“This facility will not only enhance the performance and mental peace of working mothers but will also contribute positively to the overall institutional environment,” she remarked.

Director Women Development Department Tariq Khan Niazi and Assistant Director Operations Hafiz Usman were also present on the occasion.

The institute’s administration expressed gratitude to the Punjab government and the Women Development Department, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of the daycare centre.

The Punjab government is establishing daycare centres across various public and semi-public institutions as part of its continued efforts to promote an inclusive, women-friendly and supportive working environment.
