DC Abbottabad reviews service delivery, orders immediate improvements in infrastructure

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram chaired a comprehensive meeting on district service delivery, stressing the need to enhance public services in line with directives of the provincial government.

The meeting reviewed the performance of key departments. The District Monitoring Officer of the education Monitoring Authority briefed participants on departmental performance, while officials from TMAs, WASA, Galiyat Development Authority, Social Welfare, Tourism, Agriculture, Livestock, and other departments attended the session.

The DC directed all relevant departments to improve service delivery indicators, ensure timely identification of issues, and submit reports with prompt action. He emphasized achieving the service delivery benchmarks set by the provincial government.

Special instructions were issued to WASA to improve the city’s sanitation system. The meeting also reviewed public facilities in Galiyat, including washrooms and walking tracks, and highlighted the need to address staff shortages and ensure the timely provision of services.

Later, on the directives of the DC, field inspections were carried out to address infrastructure issues. Additional Assistant Commissioner Kamran Ali Shah and Additional Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Afshan Rehman visited Link Road, Circular Road, Kachehri Amrood, and other areas to review road conditions, pothole repairs, and drainage systems. They issued on-the-spot directions to WASA and other concerned departments for immediate corrective measures.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioners (General and Finance & Planning), Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad, Additional Assistant Commissioners, and officers from the Communication and Works, Agriculture, Livestock, Wildlife, and Tourism departments, among others.
