ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Attock, Rao Atif Raza, on Saturday laid the foundation stone of a new dispensary in Union Council Nara and vowed to prioritise development schemes across the underdeveloped belt of Tehsil Jand, with a focus on healthcare, roads and clean drinking water.

During his visit to Nara village, the DC held a meeting with local political and social representatives at the Union Council office, where he was briefed on ongoing and proposed development projects.

The dispensary, estimated to cost Rs12.5 million, is expected to significantly improve Primary healthcare access for residents of the area.

Senior officials, including municipal, revenue and police officers, accompanied the DC, along with notable community figures who highlighted key issues facing the locality. Residents called for the construction of the Nara–Pari road, establishment of a rural health centre, and widening of the Nara–Dandi road.

Atif assured participants that all projects initiated through community self-help would be surveyed and taken up on priority.

“Development in neglected areas is our foremost responsibility, and no effort will be spared to address longstanding issues,” he said.

The DC also visited Government schools, including GGES Kali Dali, GPS Mohri Thatta and GBHS Nara, where he reviewed academic activities, inspected science and computer laboratories, and assessed classroom facilities.

Later, he toured Basic Health Unit Mari Jalwal and interacted with residents of surrounding villages to better understand their concerns. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and public services, urging citizens, particularly from remote areas to directly approach the Deputy Commissioner’s office with their grievances. The visit underscores the district administration’s renewed focus on inclusive development and service delivery in Attock’s far-flung regions.
