HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, chaired a review meeting of National Action Plan (NAP) / Apex Committee at Darbar Hall. The meeting reviewed overall law and order situation in the district, implementation of National Action Plan, security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram, measures to curb hate material, wall chalking, enforcement of Loudspeaker Act, prevention of illegal activities, and performance of the relevant departments.
Speaking on the occasion, DC directed all concerned departments to ensure effective implementation of every point of the National Action Plan. He emphasized that all institutions should perform their responsibilities through close coordination and a comprehensive strategy.
He further instructed the concerned officers to ensure foolproof security arrangements for Muharram processions and religious gatherings, along with effective arrangements for cleanliness, lighting, drinking water, medical facilities, and traffic management to facilitate mourners.
DC directed all Assistant Commissioners to hold meetings with transporters following the recent reduction in petroleum prices and ensure that public transport fares are reduced to provide relief to the public.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He specifically instructed Assistant Commissioner of Qazi Ahmed to take strict action against those involved in illegal sale of petroleum products.
DC also directed HESCO administration to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply during Muharram-ul-Haram. He also instructed Food Control Authority to intensify operations against the sale of substandard food items and directed Municipal Corporation to ensure cleanliness, safe drinking water, and proper lighting along the routes of Majalis and mourning processions during Muharram.
The meeting was attended by officers of law enforcement agencies, Assistant Commissioners, district officers, and other relevant officials, who briefed the participants on the performance of their respective departments and the implementation of National Action Plan. Among those present were Pakistan Army Officer Tajammal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Saddam Hussain Memon, District Health Officer Dr. Mudassar Hussain, DSP Dure tabish, officials from the Police, Rescue, Local Government, Social Welfare, Information Department, Rangers, and other concerned departments.
