DC Chiniot orders drain cleaning and beautification drive ahead of monsoon

CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan on Thursday visited Sargodha Road and Jhumra Road sewerage systems along with MD WASA Muhammad Rafi, Administrator Wasiq Abbas Haral, and COMC Muhammad Fayyaz to review drainage conditions ahead of the monsoon season.

During the inspection, she directed WASA authorities to ensure thorough cleaning of all drains and sewer lines, stressing that no water stagnation should occur at any point. She emphasized that drainage systems must remain fully functional and operate continuously to prevent urban flooding during rainfall.

In a separate visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected Bypass Chowk on Sargodha Road along with the same officials, where she reviewed ongoing conditions and urban infrastructure.

She issued instructions for further improvement, restoration, and beautification of Bypass Chowk and its installed monuments, highlighting the need to enhance the visual appeal and functionality of key public spaces in the city.
