BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner(DC) Bahawalpur,Syed Hassan Raza on Friday conducted a surprise visit to several parks in the city to review ongoing development,renovation and beautification works.
During the visit,he inspected Shahdara Family Park, the park adjacent to Central Eid Gah, and parks near the General Post Office.
He reviewed cleanliness arrangements,landscaping and ongoing construction activities while officials of the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) briefed him on the progress of work.
On the occasion,DC directed concerned departments to ensure a clean and green environment in line with the vision of the Punjab Chief Minister.
He stressed timely pruning of trees in green belts,proper maintenance of lawns and grass and execution of seasonal plantation drives.
He also instructed authorities to improve public facilitation by providing adequate shaded seating arrangements in parks.
He further directed that plantation of flowering plants be promoted to enhance the aesthetic appeal of recreational spaces, adding that parks should be developed as well-maintained and attractive public facilities.
He said public parks not only serve as recreational areas but also promote healthy activities among citizens,stressing the need for their regular upkeep.
Officials informed the DC that the fountain at the park adjacent to Central Eid Gah has been made operational,while installation of new tuff tiles on walking tracks and flooring was in progress.
They added that tree maintenance,painting work and improvement of grass lawns have also been completed.
Expressing satisfaction over the ongoing work,DC Syed Hassan Raza said that citizens would soon be able to benefit from a cleaner and more pleasant environment upon completion of the projects.
He reiterated that maintaining the city’s cleanliness and beauty remains the top priority of the district administration, which was utilizing all available resources to achieve the objective.
