DC directs completion of development projects on time

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ijaz on Tuesday reviewed cleanliness

arrangements, ongoing development schemes and anti-dengue measures during a

visit to City Tehsil, saying that initiatives under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister

Maryam Nawaz Sharif were being implemented in full spirit.

Accompanied by Chief Officer of the Metropolitan Corporation Lahore and the Assistant

Commissioner City, the DC inspected Corporation Chowk and Gulshan Ravi, where he

was briefed in detail on development projects, sanitation efforts and dengue prevention

activities.

Officials informed the DC that construction of 200 streets in Gulshan Ravi had been

completed, while work on an additional 126 streets was progressing rapidly towards

completion. The assistant commissioner also gave a comprehensive briefing on ongoing

development schemes, assuring transparency, quality and timely completion.

The chief executive officer health briefed the DC on the performance of the anti-dengue

campaign, including field activities and the presence of dengue workers.

It was informed

that the anti-dengue field campaign was being carried out successfully across the district,

including Gulshan Ravi.

During the visit, the DC inspected curb stones installation and road washing at Corporation

Chowk, directing officials to ensure daily cleanliness and beautification. He ordered immediate

spraying in at least 10 surrounding houses wherever dengue larvae were detected and

stressed the need for prompt identification and reporting.

DC Muhammad Ali Ijaz emphasised that no compromise would be made on quality and

transparency in development projects and directed authorities to ensure their completion

within stipulated timelines. He also directed the officials to maintain road visibility and

urban aesthetics. He said that strict implementation of the “Suthra Punjab” vision was

underway, adding that timely completion of development projects remains the top priority.

He appreciated the efforts of field teams engaged in dengue control and noted that ongoing

beautification initiatives were enhancing the city’s appearance.
