DC directs presence of Govt. officials in cattle markets

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) In view of the upcoming Eid al-Adha, an important meeting of the district administration was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Captain (Retd) Sanaullah Khan.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Muhammad Daud Saleemi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief), Mehran Khan, administrative officers, and officials from relevant departments.

A detailed briefing was given regarding Eid al-Adha arrangements, including the establishment of cattle markets, public facilities, security measures, traffic management plans, and sanitation arrangements.

Deputy Commissioner Peshawar directed that the presence of representatives of relevant departments at cattle markets across all tehsils to ensure supervision of the district administration.

He instructed that all necessary facilities be provided to the public, and added that veterinary doctors from the Livestock department should inspect animals at entry points of the markets. He also directed to spray the places and animals for hygiene purposes, and to improve cleanliness at all the markets.

To maintain security and smooth traffic flow, police and traffic police personnel would also be deployed at the cattle markets, he further directed. During the meeting, cattle market owners were instructed to strictly follow the government’s code of conduct, allocate separate spaces for animals, install bamboo fencing, and create separate pathways to facilitate the public.

Administrative officers and relevant authorities were also directed to take immediate action against illegal cattle markets to control traffic-related issues.
