DC, DPO review Ashura security monitoring at safe city Chiniot control rooms

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan and District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Naveed Atif on Friday visited the Safe City Chiniot Control Room and the Deputy Commissioner's Office Control Room to review security and monitoring arrangements for Ashura processions across the district.

During the visit, Safe City officials briefed the officers on the real-time surveillance system being used to monitor processions through CCTV and drone cameras. The two officers reviewed the monitoring mechanism and assessed the overall security preparedness for the religious events.

The deputy commissioner and DPO directed officials to ensure uninterrupted surveillance of all processions and religious gatherings so that any untoward incident could be detected and responded to without delay.

They stressed the importance of effective coordination among all departments to maintain a peaceful environment during Ashura.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Dr. Naveed Atif said all available resources were being utilized to maintain law and order throughout the district. Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan said the district administration and all relevant departments had been fully mobilized to provide maximum facilitation and ensure the safety and security of mourners during Muharram.
