LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ijaz has extended warm Easter greetings to the Christian community, saying that the district administration fully shares in the joy of the Christian citizens and is committed to ensuring peaceful and well-organized celebrations across the city.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, the Deputy Commissioner said that Easter is a sacred religious festival of the Christian community which promotes the message of love, peace, tolerance, and brotherhood. He added that the Christian community is an important part of Pakistani society and has played a commendable role in the country’s development and progress.
The DC said that the district administration Lahore has made comprehensive arrangements for Easter celebrations in all churches across the provincial capital. He said that cleanliness, lighting, and security arrangements around churches have been completed to facilitate worshippers and ensure a peaceful environment during the festivities.
He further said that the district administration remains in close and continuous coordination with representatives of the Christian community to address all their concerns and ensure the provision of necessary facilities. Special monitoring teams have also been assigned duties to oversee arrangements and maintain law and order during the celebrations.
The DC emphasized that promoting interfaith harmony is among the top priorities of the Punjab government, adding that such religious occasions reflect the spirit of unity and mutual respect in society. He said that Easter provides an opportunity to strengthen the message of peace and brotherhood among all communities. “Easter is a sacred festival of the Christian community, and we are equally sharing their happiness,” he remarked, adding that the administration is determined to ensure a peaceful and respectful environment for all citizens during the celebrations.
