DC inspects polio teams, orders action on price violations, encroachments

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohat, Muhammad Nawaz has inspected polio teams across the district on the opening day of an anti-polio campaign, reviewing their performance and directing action against price violations and encroachments in local markets.

During the visits, the deputy commissioner checked staff attendance and tally sheets, and spoke with frontline health workers about operational challenges.

He issued instructions to ensure the smooth conduct of the campaign.

The DC also urged parents to cooperate with the health teams and ensure their children are vaccinated against polio to prevent lifelong disability.

Separately, acting on the deputy commissioner’s directives, the Additional Assistant Commissioner-II inspected markets, reviewing prices of fruits, vegetables and other essential commodities, as well as sanitation conditions. The authorities took legal action against shopkeepers violating official price lists and maintaining poor hygiene standards.

The officials also launched a crackdown on illegal encroachments, issuing warnings and removing structures at multiple locations.

The measures reflect the district administration’s efforts to protect public health and enforce civic regulations.
