DC Kalat for setting prices of petrol, diesel & new fares of public transport

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Apr, 2026) On the special directive of Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, Deputy Commissioner Kalat Munir Ahmed Durrani presided over a meeting regarding the determination of petrol and diesel prices and setting new fares for public transport.

The meeting was attended by SSP Kalat Syed Zahid Hussain Shah, ADC Shahnawaz Baloch, Tehsildar Kalat Haji Abdul Ghaffar Lehri, PASP Haji Naseem Shahwani, Traffic Sergeant Samiullah, representatives of the Transporters Union of Kalat and Khaliqabad Muhammad Anwar Muhammad Shahi Dar Muhammad Nooruddin Qambrani Saifullah Zehri Wali Muhammad Mehboob Ali Rafiullah, and petrol pump owners Agha Sarwar Ahmadzai Haji Abdullah Lango, Shakeel Manzoor Lango.

The meeting reviewed the prices of Iranian petrol and diesel and fixed new rates.

In Kalat, the prices of Iranian petrol and diesel were set at Rs 255 per liter, while in Khaliqabad, the prices of Iranian petrol and diesel were set at Rs 265.

According to the decisions taken in consultation with the transporter in the meeting, the fares of vehicles plying from Kalat city to other cities were reviewed, and a new fare was set.

Deputy Commissioner Munir Ahmad Durrani said that petrol pump owners should ensure implementation of the new fare list set, and transporters should also follow the new fare list in any case.

He said that a joint committee of the district administration and police force would be formed to monitor the fares, including petrol and diesel prices, which could visit petrol pumps on a daily basis and review the fare list.

The DC mentioned that strict legal action would be taken against violators, their pumps would be sealed, and a case could be registered against the owners.

On the orders of the Chief Minister Balochistan, the district administration and police force are using all means to provide relief to the people.
