DC Kohat chairs meeting to strengthen anti-smuggling drive

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) In a proactive and coordinated effort, an online meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kohat Mr. Muhammad Nawaz, on Thursday to review and intensify measures against smuggling in the district. The session brought together officials from the district administration, Kohat Police, Food Department, Excise Department, Agriculture Department, and other relevant agencies to ensure a unified approach.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed authorities to remain vigilant at joint check posts and to closely monitor the movement of food items, essential commodities, and unregistered vehicles.

He stressed that strict oversight and timely inspections were crucial to effectively curb smuggling and safeguard public interests.

Officials actively discussed current challenges and reaffirmed their commitment to enhanced coordination. Furthermore, they pledged to maintain close cooperation among departments to strengthen enforcement and prevent illegal trade from destabilizing the local market.
