DC Kohat inspects Tanda dam fish hatchery; sanitation measures reviewed at imambargahs

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz visited the Tanda Dam Fish Hatchery on Thursday to review fish breeding operations, administrative management, and the overall condition of the facility. During the inspection, he toured various sections of the hatchery, interacted with staff members, and assessed measures aimed at enhancing fish production and conservation.

Emphasizing the importance of the fisheries sector, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials to further improve hatchery management and adopt effective strategies for sustainable fish breeding and preservation. He said that strengthening fisheries resources could contribute significantly to local economic development and environmental sustainability.

Separately, Assistant Commissioner (Headquarters) Kohat Naveed Ahmad, acting on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner, conducted inspections of several Imambargahs along with the Tehsil Municipal Officer to review sanitation arrangements and identify civic issues ahead of upcoming religious activities.

During the visit, officials examined cleanliness conditions and issued strict instructions to ensure regular garbage collection and proper sanitation around the religious sites. The concerned staff were directed to maintain high hygiene standards, while authorities warned that negligence in cleanliness and waste management would invite strict disciplinary action.
