KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz has directed a series of inspections and administrative actions aimed at improving service delivery in health, livestock, food safety, and education sectors under the District Service Delivery Agenda.
On his instructions, Additional Assistant Commissioner Gambat Syed Mukhtiar Shah on Wednesday visited veterinary hospitals in Billi Tang and Gambat, reviewing the availability of medicines, staff attendance, cleanliness, record-keeping, and treatment facilities for livestock. Officials were directed to ensure timely and quality veterinary services for the public. The cattle market at Billi Tang was also inspected, with emphasis on sanitation, water supply, drainage, security, and basic facilities for traders and visitors.
In a separate action, Additional Assistant Commissioner-II Kohat Ms. Aruba Iftikhar, along with a mobile laboratory team of the Halal Food Authority, inspected milk shops across the area. Tests revealed adulteration and unhygienic storage conditions at several outlets, resulting in heavy fines and strict warnings to shopkeepers to comply with hygiene and quality standards or face legal action.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner chaired a high-level meeting on the anti-polio campaign, attended by officials from the administration, health, education, and police departments. He urged parents to ensure vaccination of their children, stressing protection against permanent disability. Appreciation certificates were also distributed among high-performing staff.
He also presided over a District Steering Committee meeting of the Education Department, where officials briefed him on performance indicators. The DC directed authorities to improve basic facilities in schools, including water, electricity, boundary walls, and infrastructure repairs, while also promoting modern teaching methods to enhance education quality.
Reaffirming priorities, Muhammad Nawaz said improved veterinary care, food safety, education standards, and health campaigns remain central to the district agenda, calling for coordinated efforts to ensure effective public service delivery in Kohat.
