DC launches tree plantation drive with students:

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry on Tuesday inaugurated a tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling alongside students in his office garden, aiming to promote a greener and healthier environment across the district.

According to a press release issued by the DC office, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) planted a total of 1,600 saplings across the city, including 1,500 at Chidhar Chowk and 100 at the new DC Complex. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Muhammad Arshad Wattoo and Managing Director of the Horticulture Authority, Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad, were also present on the occasion.

To highlight the importance of the initiative, the Deputy Commissioner led an awareness walk with students, encouraging citizens to actively participate in the campaign.

Speaking at the event, Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry emphasized that tree plantation is a form of ongoing charity and a vital step in combating environmental pollution. He urged the residents of Sargodha to support the campaign and contribute to making the region greener.

The MD of the Parks and Horticulture Authority stated that a target of planting 40,000 saplings has been set for the current drive, of which 16,000 have already been planted. He added that geo-tagging of all saplings is being carried out to ensure effective monitoring and long-term maintenance.
