BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza marked the first anniversary of the Environment Protection Force by cutting a cake at a ceremony held in the committee room of his office.
The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. Ayesha Khan, Deputy Director Environment Dr. Muhammad Owais, Assistant Director Environment Ansar Abbas, Inspector Waheed Murad Lashari, and other officials of the Environment Protection Force.
Addressing the ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Primary role of the Environment Protection Force is to protect the environment from pollution and ensure effective implementation of environmental laws. He noted that due to the proactive initiatives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, there has been a significant reduction in pollution, particularly smog, in which the Force has played a key role.
He further stated that coordinated efforts are underway to keep Bahawalpur district free from pollution, with all relevant departments actively fulfilling their responsibilities.
On the occasion, the Assistant Director Environment informed that the Force is effectively monitoring air, water, and land pollution caused by industrial, commercial, and other activities, and is taking strict action against violators. He added that the Force is also playing an important role in raising public awareness about environmental protection, promoting cleanliness, safeguarding trees, and implementing various initiatives aimed at environmental improvement.
