MIRPURKHAS, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Mirpurkhas, Nawab Sameer Hussain Laghari, on Thursday directed health authorities to further strengthen anti-polio and routine immunization efforts, emphasizing that no child should be left unvaccinated against preventable diseases.
Chairing a review meeting at the District Health Officer (DHO) Office, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the overall performance of the ongoing polio campaign. The meeting was attended by DHO Dr. Nihal Chand, Focal Person Dr. Narain Das, health department officials, representatives of the polio program, and other concerned officers.
During the session, Laghari instructed all vaccination teams to ensure that every child from birth to five years of age receives polio drops during the campaign.

He also directed officials to promptly address operational challenges being faced in different clusters.
The Deputy Commissioner warned that negligence or laxity in carrying out polio-related duties would not be tolerated and that strict action would be taken against those found responsible. He urged all relevant departments to enhance coordination and adopt effective strategies to achieve the national objective of a polio-free Pakistan, while also ensuring door-to-door routine immunization services to maximize vaccine coverage among children.
