DC orders annual sports calendar under ‘Khelta Sargodha’ initiative

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner(DC) Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhary on Monday directed District Sports Officer Saima Manzoor to prepare a comprehensive annual sports Calendar within three days under the ‘Maryam Nawaz Ka Khelta Sargodha’ initiative.

Chairing a meeting,DC said sports competitions should be held regularly at union council,tehsil and district levels to ensure maximum participation of youth.

He emphasized launching an effective talent hunt program and providing specialized training to nurture athletes across the district.

DC also directed the organization of hardball cricket tournaments under the Last Man Stands (LMS) model to promote professionalism,while stressing the need to revive traditional sports such as volleyball and kabaddi in both rural and urban areas.

He further instructed the district council authorities to install floodlights at the Kot Momin sports ground at the earliest.

Further,the district sports officer briefed participants on ongoing development schemes in the sector.

The meeting was attended by senior officials,including the additional deputy commissioner (general) and representatives of the district council and local government.
