DC orders strict actions over dengue larvae detection, warns against fake reporting

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (R) Nadeem Nasir on Wednesday ordered the immediate sealing of premises and registration of FIRs where dengue larvae are detected, declaring a strict zero-tolerance policy against fake field reporting and false data entries.

Presiding over a meeting of the District Emergency and Response Committee (DERC) on Dengue situation and and surveillance, the deputy commissioner reviewed ongoing indoor and outdoor sector surveillance, operations and hotspot monitoring amid heightened monsoon risk.

He warned that officials found submitting fake activity logs, fabricated reporting, or uploading misleading field photographs would face severe departmental action, emphasizing that only genuine anti-dengue ground operations would be tolerated.

To streamline healthcare delivery, Captain (R) Nadeem instructed the Health Department to maintain operational readiness across special dengue wards in all public hospitals, ensuring adequate bed capacity, diagnostic facilities, trained staff, and essential medicine stocks.

He further directed that dedicated anti-dengue counters be set up at private hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic laboratories, alongside prominent display of public awareness materials regarding vector prevention.

Municipal bodies, including the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company(RWMC), Municipal Corporation (MCR), District Council, education Department, and Environmental Protection Agency, were tasked with accelerating sanitation drives, field monitoring, and waste clearing in their respective jurisdictions.

Concluding the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to citizens to eliminate stagnant water accumulation in rooftops, water tanks, flower pots, and scrap tires, noting that community participation was vital to making anti-dengue efforts effective across the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Abdul Rehman Khan, the Chief Executive Officer Health, and representatives from civic and line departments.
