DC, parliamentary secretary inaugurate ICU ward,solar system at THQ hospital

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhary along with Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Livestock Sardar Asim Sher Mekan on Monday inaugurated an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) ward and a solar energy system at the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Shahpur to enhance medical facilities for

the local population.

Addressing the ceremony, Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Sardar Asim Sher Mekan said the Punjab government was taking serious steps to provide quality and timely healthcare services to the public, adding that the establishment of an ICU at the tehsil level was a milestone in strengthening the health system.

He stated that the installation of the solar system would ensure uninterrupted power supply to the hospital, which would significantly improve patient care.

Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhary maintained that the district administration was prioritizing the improvement of facilities in hospitals and noted that the functional ICU ward would provide immediate and standard treatment to patients from Shahpur and its surrounding areas.
