Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani chaired a meeting to review monthly performance of District Surveillance, the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), and the Sindh Lady Health Workers Program

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani chaired a meeting to review monthly performance of District Surveillance, the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), and the Sindh Lady Health Workers Program. During meeting, a detailed review was conducted of the ongoing District Disease Surveillance System across the district, focusing on the situation of communicable diseases, reporting mechanism, and timely response measures. Deputy Commissioner directed all talukas to ensure identification and reporting of refusal cases and disease outbreaks in a timely manner to effectively tackle any potential epidemic situation.

While briefing on EPI program, officials informed the meeting that all vaccination centers are fully functional and children are being administered vaccines to protect them against various life-threatening diseases. DC emphasized the need to further improve routine immunization coverage and to launch special campaigns to reach missed children.

He also stressed ensuring vaccine availability, effective cold chain management, and improved micro-planning. Under the Lady Health Workers Program, measures taken to provide mother and child healthcare, family planning services, and basic health facilities in the district were also reviewed. Deputy Commissioner directed Lady Health Workers to further improve their performance, attendance, and community engagement to strengthen service delivery at the grassroots level.

On the occasion, DC Abdul Samad Nizamani instructed concerned officers to immediately address existing gaps in performance and present clear improvements in next meeting to ensure the provision of better and timely healthcare services to public. The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Dr. Mudassar Hussain, MS PMC Dr. Yar Ali Jamali, District Manager PPHI Muhammad Zakir Samo, MS Taluka Hospital Sakrand Dr. Daulat Jamali, EPI Focal Person, Program Manager Lady Health Workers, and other relevant officials.
