LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ijaz on Saturday visited Tehsil Wagah and reviewed ongoing development projects, cleanliness arrangements and administrative affairs at the Wagah Corridor.
Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL), Assistant Commissioner Wagah, officials of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), officers of the Suthra Punjab programme and Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) accompanied the deputy commissioner during the visit.
The DC inspected the corridor’s service lane and adjoining informal markets, where Assistant Commissioner Wagah briefed him on the expansion project and issues relating to the service lane.
During the visit, a proposal was presented to introduce model carts to organize the informal markets.

Expressing displeasure over the slow pace of work at a WASA construction site, Muhammad Ali Ijaz directed the agency’s officials to expedite development work without delay. He also ordered strict implementation of official price lists in markets and reiterated that action against profiteers would continue under the government’s zero-tolerance policy.
The DC directed the authorities to remove all obstacles affecting traffic flow at the Wagah Corridor and maintain high standards of cleanliness under the Suthra Punjab campaign. He added all available resources would be utilized to further improve the beauty and cleanliness of the area.
