DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Abdul Nasir has visited key development sites in the city to review ongoing rehabilitation and construction work, focusing on improving drainage and public facilities.
According to the administration the DC inspected the main drainage channel from Topanwala Bazaar to GPO Chowk.
During the visit, the officials concerned briefed him on progress related to cleaning operations, removal of encroachments, debris clearance, and restoration of the drainage system.
Officials from relevant departments including XEN PHED, Manager Operations (WSSC), and TMO Dera Ismail Khan were also present during the visit.
He directed the relevant departments to immediately remove any remaining encroachments and waste to ensure the drainage system becomes fully functional, easing difficulties faced by residents.
He also instructed officials of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) to begin rehabilitation work on the drain without delay and ensure timely completion.
He emphasized the importance of constructing safe and accessible pathways for pedestrians and motorcyclists alongside the drain.
Later, he visited Town Hall Dera Ismail Khan, where he reviewed the quality and pace of ongoing construction work.
He said efforts were ongoing to enhance urban facilities, improve infrastructure, and restore an effective drainage system, with the aim of providing a better and safer environment for the people.
He directed concerned authorities to further improve construction standards and accelerate progress so that the project can be completed within the scheduled timeframe.
