DC reviews enforcement of smart lockdown

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hassan Raza reviewed energy conservation and smart lockdown implementation in the city.

The DC conducted a visit to Welcome Chowk and adjoining areas of Railway Road to review energy conservation measures and the enforcement of the smart lock down. Officials from the district administration and relevant departments were also present on the occasion.

The Deputy Commissioner carried out a detailed inspection of market closures at Welcome Chowk and Railway Road, ensuring that shops were operating according to the prescribed timings. He also checked the operating hours of shopping plazas, shops, and shopping centers.

He visited various commercial centers to assess the situation and directed that government orders must be implemented in letter and spirit.

On this occasion, Syed Hassan Raza emphasized that strict compliance with the government-issued SOPs for energy conservation is essential. He made it clear that strict legal action will be taken without discrimination against markets, commercial centers, and shopping plazas violating the prescribed timings.

He further stated that energy conservation is a national responsibility, and no negligence or carelessness will be tolerated in this regard. The district administration is ensuring effective implementation of smart lock down and energy-saving measures to reduce unnecessary electricity consumption and protect national resources.

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the concerned officers to continue regular field visits and maintain an effective monitoring system to ensure full compliance with government policies.
