DC reviews model village project in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi chaired a review meeting of the Model Village Project being implemented under the Local Government in the district.

Divisional Coordinator Model Village Programme Muhammad Abdullah informed the meeting that eight model villages were being established, adding that work had started in five of them. Focal persons of parliamentarians also attended the meeting.

The deputy commissioner expressed concern over the slow pace of progress and directed the authorities concerned to expedite the work. She also instructed that identification of land in remaining areas be completed immediately.

Later, she visited Moinuddin Pur Syedan to review the ongoing development work under the project.

Political Secretary Taimoor Butt, Deputy Director Development Tasawar Warraich and Divisional Coordinator Muhammad Abdullah accompanied her.

Chairman Syed Aqeel Abbas Shah and former councillor Syed Sajil Abbas Shah briefed her on the progress.

The deputy commissioner directed the contractor to accelerate work while ensuring quality so the project could be completed within the stipulated time.
