NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, chaired a meeting at Darbar Hall Tuesday, to review the monthly performance of Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), District Surveillance, and Lady Health Workers Program in the district.
During meeting, focal persons of EPI, Surveillance, and Lady Health Workers Program gave separate briefings. Detailed discussions were held on immunization coverage, refusal cases, cold chain management, vaccine availability, and field performance of teams.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Samad Nizamani said that all health programs in Shaheed Benazirabad District would be made effective and successful to ensure better healthcare services for the public. He emphasized that immunization is essential for mother and child health and directed that the immunization program be further strengthened to protect mothers and children from deadly diseases.
DC instructed concerned officers to identify areas where children have missed vaccinations and to carry out special micro-planning to ensure access to every missed child. He made it clear that no child should remain deprived of immunization.
Regarding District surveillance, it was informed that the reporting system for monitoring various diseases has been further strengthened.
Deputy Commissioner strictly directed all relevant officers to ensure timely and 100% accurate data reporting so that any potential outbreak can be addressed promptly.
Discussing the Lady Health Workers Program, DC said that it serves as the backbone of Primary healthcare delivery. He directed strict monitoring of attendance, performance, and field visits of Lady Health Workers, and emphasized that indiscriminate action should be taken against absenteeism and poor performance.
He further instructed that public awareness campaigns be made more effective, especially in rural and remote areas, to educate parents about the importance of immunization for children.
Deputy Commissioner also directed Assistant Commissioners to conduct field visits in their respective areas and ensure proper monitoring of ongoing health programs. It was also decided in meeting that performance reviews would be conducted regularly every month, and special strategies would be devised for areas showing weak performance.
The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Dr. Mudassar Hussain, District Population Officer Riaz Ahmed Shar, CCO Akbar Ali Junejo, and other health department officials.
