DC reviews sanitation, municipal services in Shahdara

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ijaz on Wednesday visited Ravi Tehsil and reviewed ongoing sanitation operations and municipal service delivery, with a special focus on Shahdara Mor and surrounding areas.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Chief Officer MCL, Assistant Commissioner Ravi, along with officials of WASA and Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC). The team conducted a detailed inspection of cleanliness arrangements along main roads and adjacent localities.

Assistant Commissioner Ravi briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the progress of sanitation operations being carried out in the area. The inspection covered major highways, link roads, and surrounding neighbourhoods to assess cleanliness standards and waste removal activities.

The DC directed that proper covering of manholes must be ensured without delay to avoid any untoward incident.

He further ordered the immediate removal of debris and waste from streets and main roads to improve urban cleanliness and traffic flow. He emphasized that provision of quality municipal services to citizens remains the top priority of the administration. He added that strict monitoring of cleanliness operations will continue to ensure sustained improvement across the district.

The DC said elimination of visual pollution is essential for improving the city’s aesthetics and urban environment. He also warned that any negligence in sewerage and drainage management would not be tolerated. He said anti-encroachment operations will continue without discrimination, while timely covering of manholes will be ensured to safeguard citizens and prevent accidents.
