DC, Sahiwal reviews Punjab governance measures in meeting

CHICHAWATNI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) A review meeting on the Punjab chief minister’s governance initiatives and performance indicators on Wednesday was held under the chairmanship of Sahiwal Deputy Commissioner (DC) Samia Ullah Farooq.

The meeting examined progress on public welfare programmes launched by the Punjab government, delivery of public services, sanitation, price control, revenue collection, anti-encroachment operations, education, healthcare and the resolution of public complaints.

Addressing officials, Farooq said the provision of quality basic facilities to citizens and improvement in the performance of government's institutions remained the Punjab government’s top priority, in line with the directives of the chief minister.

He instructed all departments to discharge their duties with honesty and a strong sense of responsibility, warning that negligence in resolving public issues would not be tolerated.

The deputy commissioner said performance indicators were not merely statistical figures but an effective mechanism for ensuring better public services, urging officers to fulfill their responsibilities efficiently.

The officials also briefed the meeting on the overall sanitation situation, monitoring of food prices in markets, attendance in government offices and progress on ongoing development schemes.

The DC directed all relevant departments to strengthen coordination and adopt a comprehensive strategy to achieve targets within the stipulated timeframe.
