DC SBA for ensuring implementation of new business operating hours

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Abdul Samad Nizamani has issued directives to revenue officers to ensure implementation of new business operating hours across the district under the Sindh government’s austerity policy. According to Deputy Commissioner, strict compliance with the revised timings for shops, markets, restaurants, and marriage halls will be ensured throughout the district. The new directives have been enforced with immediate effect. Under the policy, all shops, markets, and shopping malls in the district’s tehsils, excluding the divisional headquarters, must close by 8:00 PM. In the divisional headquarters, business hours will extend until 9:00 PM. The orders will remain in effect seven days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays, as per Sindh government instructions.

Certain essential services have been exempted from these restrictions, including tandoors, milk and dairy shops, bakeries, medical stores, laboratories, clinics, hospitals, and petrol pumps. Hotels, restaurants, and food outlets will be allowed to operate only during dinner hours, from 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM. However, home delivery and takeaway services will remain unrestricted.

Marriage halls and banquet facilities have been permitted to hold events from 8:00 PM until midnight. Deputy Commissioner has also directed all Assistant Commissioners to ensure strict enforcement of these orders in their respective areas, in coordination with Sindh Police.
