DC SBA reviews health programs, stresses 100% immunization coverage

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani on Thursday chaired an important meeting to review the monthly performance of the Sindh Lady Health Workers Program, District Surveillance Program and the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).

During the meeting, officials from the relevant departments presented detailed briefings on the performance of the Sindh Lady Health Workers Program, District Surveillance Program and EPI. The briefing covered ongoing activities, immunization coverage, disease surveillance, reporting mechanisms and the challenges faced in the implementation of these programs.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Samad Nizamani directed the concerned officers to ensure that immunization targets are achieved at all costs and that every child receives timely vaccination services.

He emphasized the need to further strengthen disease surveillance, timely reporting and an effective monitoring system.

He said that Lady Health Workers play a vital role in creating public awareness, promoting the importance of immunization and improving maternal and child health.

The meeting was attended by ADC-I Sadam Hussain Memon, DHO Dr. Mudassar Hussain, MS-PMC Dr. Yar Ali Jamali along with officers from the health department, Sindh Lady Health Workers Program, EPI, District Surveillance Program and other relevant institutions.
