DC Shikarpure reviews Muharram ul Haram security arrangements

LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shakeel Ahmed Abro, chaired a meeting here on Thursday to review Muharram ul Haram arrangements.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muhammad Kaleem Malik, DSR Rangers Zahoor, ADC Muhammad Faizan Cheema, the Assistant Commissioners (ACs) of all four talukas, officers from SEPCO, Sui Gas, Local Government, and 1122, town chairmen, as well as Shia and Sunni scholars and leaders of various organizations.

DC Shakeel Ahmed Abro strictly instructed SEPCO that no load-shedding should take place at night from the 1st to the 13th of Muharram. Wire systems of electricity, telephone, and cable wires along the procession routes must be removed. TMOs and town chairmen were ordered to arrange cleaning and street lighting.

Supervisory committees will be formed at the taluka level under the leadership of the ACs.

SSP Muhammad Kaleem Malik reported that 3,123 male and female police personnel, 300 Rangers, and 200 army soldiers would provide security in Shikarpur and the security issues in Sanjrani Mohalla, Rustam Mor, and Dawood Shah Mohalla will be resolved immediately. He added that strict vigilance was being kept on the movements of banned organizations.

President of the Shia Ulema Council, Ali Ahmed Buriro; Asghar Sithar of Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen; and other scholars demanded proper arrangements for cleanliness, lighting, and security.The meeting was also attended by Ahle Sunnat scholars, including Maulana Shafiq Ahmed Qadri, Qari Mujibur Rehman Madani, Maulana Ata Muhammad Pahor, and others.
