The notice urged the citizens to conduct complete verification before purchasing or investing in any plot, house, or flat to avoid financial loss and legal complications.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, the public has been advised to invest only in housing projects that have been formally approved by the relevant authorities, as investment in unapproved schemes may lead to financial loss, legal action, and even demolition of constructions.
The DC advised citizens to verify land ownership and title from the concerned Mukhtiarkar’s office before purchase, ensure the presence of an approved layout plan, and check maps approved by the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) for constructed units.
The notice further directed that the presence and status of the No Objection Certificate (NOC) must be confirmed, allotment letters should be obtained only after all legal requirements are fulfilled, and clearance of all utilities including electricity, gas, water and sewerage must be checked.
In the notice, owners, developers and marketing agencies of housing schemes have been strictly directed to immediately stop advertising, booking, or sale of any project without an NOC, failing which strict legal action will be taken.
According to the administration, in case of violation, offices may be sealed, fines may be imposed, and criminal cases may be registered against those responsible.
