DC warns against negligence during Sargodha sanitation drive

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2026) Deputy Commissioner(DC) Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry on Monday warned that negligence in ensuring public safety and civic services would not be tolerated,saying the protection of citizens' lives and property remained the district administration's top priority.

DC made the remarks during a surprise inspection of sanitation,drainage and civic infrastructure across the city under the Suthra Punjab initiative.

Accompanied by Municipal Corporation Chief Officer,Ahmad Bilal and Suthra Punjab Authority District Manager Raja Shoaib,he visited Gol Chowk,Shaheen Chowk,Block No 12,Eidgah Road,the old vegetable market,Iqbal Colony,Block No 33,the old bridge in islam Pura,Satellite Town and Zafarullah Chowk.

He reviewed cleanliness arrangements,road conditions and drainage measures following the recent rains,directing the departments concerned to further improve sanitation standards across the city.

During the inspection,DC Chaudhry expressed displeasure over construction material occupying public roads and walkways at several locations and ordered its immediate removal to ensure the smooth movement of traffic and pedestrians.

He also inspected newly constructed manholes and took notice of uncovered ones,directing the authorities to install safety covers without delay to prevent accidents.

DC Chaudhry said regular field monitoring would continue to ensure the effective implementation of the Suthra Punjab program,maintain cleanliness standards and provide residents with a safe environment.

He warned that officers and officials found negligent in the discharge of their duties would face strict disciplinary action.
