DC warns LPG, fish dealers against unjustified hike in prices

MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Usman Tahir Jappa held separate meetings with businesspersons dealing in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and fish farming here Monday and warned them of action in case of raising prices unnecessarily and without any justification.

The DC discussed with them the possibilities of reduction in prices of LPG and fish farming and conveyed to them the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif focused on providing relief to people and importance of selling essential items and LPG at fixed price.

In the meeting with LPG dealers representatives, DC said that unjustified rise in prices and failure in selling the fuel gas at fixed price would invite punitive action.

He said that it was the responsibility of the government to provide relief to the masses under prevailing conditions and added that government was taking it as its top priority.

He ordered price control magistrates to intensify field operations to monitor prices of LPG. The LPG dealers were told to remain adhered to the fixed price and avoid raising prices under the garb of artificial shortage.

DC also met with fish farming dealers and asked them to provide relief to the people as per the policy of the government. He warned them of legal action in case of unjustified rise in prices.
