DC warns of strict action over illegal deductions in wheat procurement drive

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry has directed officials to ensure complete transparency in the ongoing wheat procurement campaign, declaring that any form of illegal deduction from farmers would be “absolutely intolerable.”

Chairing a review meeting on Thursday, the DC warned that strict legal action would be taken against companies and dealers if complaints of unauthorized deductions or irregularities were received.

He instructed the authorities concerned to ensure transparent distribution of gunny bags (bardana) and effective monitoring of the procurement process.

He also directed assistant commissioners to regularly visit procurement centres and ensure timely achievement of assigned targets.

Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry said that companies designated by the government for wheat procurement should be provided full administrative support, while immediate payments to farmers after the sale of wheat must be ensured to save them from inconvenience.

He further stressed that the payment mechanism should remain transparent and that funds must be transferred directly to farmers without delay.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Muhammad Arshad Wattoo, Assistant Commissioner Sargodha Ahmad Sher Gondal, and assistant commissioners of other tehsils attended the meeting through video link.
