DDC approves Rs 480m for repair, rehabilitation of 13 roads in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Apr, 2026) District Development Committee (DDC) on Monday approved a development package worth Rs480 million for the repair and rehabilitation of 13 roads across Faisalabad district to improve urban and rural connectivity and ease traffic flow.

Chairing a meeting, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (Retired) Nadeem Nasir granted approval while officers of Municipal Corporation, Highways and other departments were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the approved projects include repair and rehabilitation of five roads in Faisalabad city and eight roads in Jaranwala tehsil. The schemes are part of the district administration’s broader efforts to upgrade infrastructure and facilitate commuters with better and safer travel facilities, he added.

He reviewed the importance and scope of the proposed schemes and emphasized that timely completion of development projects is top priority for the administration.

He directed the departments concerned to initiate work on the approved schemes without delay.

He said that transparency and quality would be ensured at all stages of execution and no compromise would be made on standards.

He instructed the officers to remain active in the field and closely monitor the progress of work to ensure that the projects are completed within stipulated timelines.

Highlighting the expected benefits, the deputy commissioner said that rehabilitation of roads would significantly improve traffic flow, reduce travel time and provide improved commuting facilities.

He further directed the relevant authorities to expedite the pace of work and ensure that all projects deliver maximum public relief particularly in both urban and rural areas of the district.
