PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) At least four people were killed and several others injured after a violent clash erupted between two rival groups in Nowshera's Nizampur area on Monday.
According to police, the confrontation took place between Attaullah and Saddam groups. The conflict reportedly began over a dispute related to illegal gold mining activities which quickly turned into an armed exchange of fire.
Initial reports confirm that at least four people were killed in the incident, while several others sustained injuries.
Among the deceased is a 17-year-old boy, Mehran, belonging to the Attaullah group, along with three members of the opposing group.
The firing continued for a prolonged period creating panic in the area and forcing residents to remain indoors.
Announcements were made through local mosques advising people to stay inside their homes, while nearby educational institutions kept students inside as a precautionary measure.
In response to the deteriorating situation, a heavy contingent of police was dispatched to the area. Law enforcers have been directed to take immediate control of the situation and restore order.
Authorities say that tension remains high, and efforts are ongoing to bring the situation under control and ensure peace in the affected area.
