MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Apr, 2026) The death toll from the rickshaw cylinder explosion that occurred three days ago near Nang Shah Road rose to four after another injured woman succumbed to her wounds at Pak Italian Burn Center (PIBC) here on Tuesday.
According to official sources at PIBC, Sughra Bibi, 48, passed away in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to critical burn injuries. She had sustained 90 per cent burns in the incident.
The explosion took place on April 5 when around 20 passengers, all belonging to the same family, were travelling from Qureshi Chowk, Muzaffargarh to Multan.
Sources said 14 injured were shifted to PIBC, where three remain in critical condition in the ICU, while a child is under treatment in NICU/PICU with severe inhalational injuries.
Among the other injured, four patients are admitted to the Accident and Emergency (A&E) ward, four in Ward No. 4 (female burn ward), and one paediatric patient in Ward No. 1.
It is pertinent to mention that the rickshaw caught fire immediately after the explosion, leaving passengers with severe burn injuries.
