DEC meeting approves 29 cases in Lodhran

LODHRAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) A meeting of the District Environment Committee (DEC) was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf, where 29 cases related to rice mills, flour mills, and housing schemes were reviewed.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Muhammad Tayyab and environmental expert Prof Dr Amjad Saeed. Deputy Director Environment Dr Manza Naseem and Assistant Director Muhammad Aleem Sagar briefed the participants on various environmental matters.

Key decisions were taken regarding the control of environmental pollution, promotion of tree plantation, and development of green belts.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf said that ensuring a pollution-free environment was a top priority in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He directed that all stakeholders involved in environment-related cases must strictly adopt eco-friendly measures.

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the preparation of five-kilometer-long green belts along Lodhran–Khanewal road and Multan road. He emphasized planting tall trees along with high-quality grass to enhance the aesthetic and environmental value of these green belts.
