Deputy Commissioner Sukkur reviews arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sukkur, Nadir Shahzad Khan chaired an important meeting at Sukkur Arts Council regarding arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram here on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tanveer Ahmed, Wing Commander Shahbaz (Rangers) Col Atif Ahmad, DHO Sukkur Dr Ali Gul Shah, Municipal Commissioner, Sukkur Municipal Corporation Pir Wahid Bakhsh, ASP City Sukkur, Assistant Commissioners of relevant all tehsils, SEPCO, Sui Gas, Health Department, Public Health, District Council, Rescue 1122, officials of other relevant departments, as well as Shia Ulema and permit holders of mourning processions, majalis and Imam Bargahs of Sukkur, Rohri, Saleh Pat and Pano Aqil.

Ulema and permit holders held detailed discussions on issue including electricity and gas load-shedding during Muharram, cleanliness, street lighting, provision of ambulances, and other matters, and presented their concerns.

Deputy Commissioner Nadir Shahzad Khan patiently heard all views. He stated that the administration would provide mourners with security, water, medicines, ambulances and all other necessary facilities.

He informed that administrative officials would remain present in the field themselves to supervise arrangements during this period.

He said that no compromise would be made on law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram, and any kind of incitement would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He pleased with the the fact that Sukkur is recognized as a peaceful district in this regard.
