Dera Administration finalizes comprehensive Eid-ul-Adha security and sanitation plan

Dera Ismail Khan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Comprehensive arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha 2026 were finalized during an important meeting of the Divisional Intelligence Coordination Committee (DICC) chaired by Commissioner Daud Khan at the Commissioner Office on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by Regional Police Officer Ghulam Mubashir Mekan, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Nasir Khan, Assistant to Commissioner (Political and Development) Sajjad Baloch, along with representatives of law enforcement agencies, the health department, PESCO, Sui Gas, food department, livestock department, Rescue 1122, TMAs and other relevant institutions.

The participants reviewed security, sanitation, traffic management, healthcare and emergency response measures in light of directives issued by the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the Eid days.

Deputy Commissioner Abdul Nasir Khan informed the meeting that the district administration had decided to establish an official cattle market for Eid-ul-Adha, while the sale and purchase of sacrificial animals in streets, residential areas, under bridges and along roadsides would remain strictly prohibited.

He said special polythene bags had been prepared for the disposal of animal waste and offal, which would be distributed among citizens, while designated dumping points would be established for safe disposal. The livestock department would deploy mobile teams in cattle markets to ensure vaccination of animals and prevent the spread of diseases. Authorities would also closely monitor prices of essential food items and transport fares during Eid days.

RPO Ghulam Mubashir Mekan told the meeting that a comprehensive security plan had been prepared for Eid prayers, Eidgahs, mosques, Imam Bargahs, markets and cattle markets across the division.

He said additional police personnel would be deployed during Eid holidays, while strict action would be taken against one-wheeling, aerial firing, over-speeding and motorcyclists riding without helmets. Lady police officials would also be deployed in markets to facilitate women and prevent harassment incidents.

Commissioner Daud Khan said all administrative and law enforcement agencies in Dera Division would work in close coordination to provide a peaceful environment and ensure the availability of civic facilities during Eid-ul-Adha. He said leaves of administrative officers and staff of relevant departments had been cancelled, while hospitals, trauma centres and Rescue 1122 teams would remain on high alert round the clock.

The commissioner further directed authorities to ensure cleanliness at Eidgahs, highways and marketplaces. He said boating without life jackets at rivers and lakes would be banned and Section 144 could be imposed if required to maintain public safety.

The meeting also decided to establish 24/7 control rooms in all districts of the division, and their contact numbers would be shared through media and social media platforms. The information department would launch public awareness campaigns through radio, mosque announcements and social media regarding traffic management, weather conditions and sanitation measures during Eid holidays.

Officials also stressed that no banned outfit or unauthorized organization would be allowed to collect sacrificial hides or donations, warning that strict legal action would be taken against violators.
