Dera Police arrest two suspects in snap checking operations

Dera Ismail Khan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Apr, 2026) Police in Paharpur Division conducted successful snap checking operations in the Panyala Circle, recovering two Kalashnikov rifles and narcotics while arresting two suspects, officials said on Saturday.

According to police spokesman, the operation was carried out on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Ziauddin Ahmed, under the supervision of SP Paharpur Division, Iqbal Khan Baloch, and DSP Panyala, Sardar Alamgir Khan.

During the action police teams led by SHO Giloti Bilal Khan apprehended an accused identified as Fazal Rahim, son of Saleh Khan, a resident of Chunda.

A Kalashnikov rifle and 300 grams of hashish were recovered from his possession.

In a separate action, SHO Panyala Abdul Ghaffar Khan arrested another suspect, Ayub, son of Faizullah, a resident of Panyala. Police recovered one Kalashnikov along with 20 rounds of ammunition from him.

Both accused have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.

DSP Panyala Sardar Alamgir Khan reaffirmed the police commitment to continuing indiscriminate actions against criminal elements to ensure law and order in the region.

A police spokesperson said such operations would continue to curb illegal weapons and narcotics in the district.
