The plan has been prepared in line with directives from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police, Zulfiqar Hameed and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera, Syed Ashfaq Anwar. It covers all four districts of the region, including Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Lower South Waziristan, and Upper South Waziristan.
According to officials, the deployed force includes operational units, Elite Force, female police personnel, Special Branch, and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officers.
A special traffic management plan has also been issued to maintain smooth flow on roads during the festive period.
RPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar reviewed the security arrangements in detail and stated that the police are fully prepared to maintain law and order and effectively respond to any emergency situation during Eid. He directed all District Police Officers (DPOs) to personally supervise security measures on 'Chand Raat' and Eid days and ensure strict implementation of all instructions.
He further emphasized enhancing security at major Mosques, Imambargahs, markets, shopping malls, and other sensitive locations. Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) have been instructed to conduct regular visits to key sites within their jurisdictions.
Search and strike operations will be carried out using bomb disposal units and sniffer dogs, while Special Branch and CTD personnel have been tasked with closely monitoring suspicious individuals and those listed in the Fourth schedule.
Traffic police have been directed to ensure smooth vehicular movement, thoroughly check vehicles entering from other districts, and maintain a courteous attitude toward the public.
The RPO also issued strict directives for legal action against those involved in aerial firing, fireworks, and
one-wheeling during 'Chand Raat' and Eid, warning that such offenders would be dealt without any leniency.
