Dera police recover five stolen bikes, arrest suspect after fire exchange with robbers

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) A suspected robber was arrested in an injured condition while five stolen motorcycles were recovered during a police operation launched after a robbery incident here on Tank road.

The police spokesman said the operation was conducted on the instructions of District Police Officer Ziauddin Ahmad under the supervision of SP City Division Muhammad Noman.

DSP Suburb Circle Hafiz Muhammad Adnan, along with SHO Shorkot Aftab Alam Baloch and SHO Dera Town Malik Imran Marhal, responded swiftly after receiving information about the robbery late at night.

The suspects attempted to flee and opened fire on the police party during the chase.

Police retaliated fire in self-defense, injuring one suspect identified as Khan Ullah, son of Dilshad and a resident of Munezabad. He sustained a bullet wound to the leg and was taken into custody before being shifted to hospital for treatment.

Police later recovered five motorcycles allegedly snatched earlier from the jurisdiction of Shorkot Police Station on the identification of the arrested suspect. Further investigation is underway to arrest other accomplices and recover more stolen property.

DSP Hafiz Muhammad Adnan said police operations against robbery and theft would be continued without any discrimination to ensure public safety and maintain peace in the area.
